Planted with Purpose. Grown from Passion.
Mizizi Ya Mafanikio was founded in 2023 by three driven friends — Fanny, Katia, and Linus — united by a shared vision: to create meaningful, lasting change in Tanzanian communities. After years of working within the charity sector, they saw the gaps, the slow pace, and the missed opportunities. So, they chose a new path — one rooted in action, collaboration, and bold ideas.
Mizizi Ya Mafanikio, meaning “Roots to Success”, was born from the belief that change doesn't need to wait. Guided by our core values of Collaboration, Empowerment, and Sustainability, we are committed to creating solutions that don’t just work today — but continue to grow for generations.

The issues we aim to address are deeply rooted in the unique context of Tanzania. That’s why we take an approach grounded in local knowledge, lived experience, and cultural nuance. Our core value of collaboration reflects this belief — because without working alongside communities, we risk misunderstanding their realities and missing the mark on what truly works. Only through shared insight can we find the right path forward.

Our commitment to empowerment reaches all marginalised and underserved groups within our communities. We envision a world where everyone — regardless of their background — has the opportunity to thrive. Locally, we work to uplift individuals so they can realise their full potential. Globally, we strive to empower Tanzanians to compete and lead in spaces like business and media, with confidence and impact.

For us, sustainability means building long-term, lasting impact within our communities. We design every project to continue thriving independently — even after our direct involvement ends. True sustainability means communities are equipped to lead their own progress. Beyond people, our commitment also extends to the environment. We envision a cleaner, greener Tanzania for future generations.
Mizizi Ya Mafanikio focuses its work in Tanzania’s northern region, particularly in and around Arusha—a place that holds deep personal meaning for all three of our founders. Having lived and worked here, we’ve built strong relationships with the local communities and developed a deep respect for the country’s culture, energy, and potential.
Our commitment to this region is rooted in connection. We work hand-in-hand with local communities, supporting them in creating opportunities for growth, wellbeing, and long-term success.
This is where our roots began, and where our impact continues.

Today, Goodluck plays a key role in the Clean Water Initiative, managing the communication side of the project. He serves as our main point of contact on the ground, ensuring smooth and consistent coordination between the charity and the communities we serve.
We’re excited to have him on the team and look forward to seeing how he continues to grow in this role.
